Summer Memories

Collecting ephemera is a generally inexpensive way to gather inspiration.  My favorite source here in Minneapolis is Hunt and Gather, which really needs to update its website. 

Anyway, I recently stopped by looking for source material for a project. I usually pick up bits of typography - labels, signs, tags, etc. However, this time around I was drawn to the vintage photos. I love to try and read the story behind the images. 

Here are a few snapshots in time that make me think of the particular joy of summer.
