Usually, when referring Fontlove Studio, I tend to use the Royal We – even though this is a one-woman operation.
That's why I'm so excited to expand the team and welcome Anda Tanaka as our studio intern this summer! Anda will be working on a project that has been a long time coming – proofing and creating specimens of all our wood and metal type to help clients and students find the best typefaces for use in their projects.
Here's a little more about Anda:
Anda Tanaka was raised in Ames, Iowa. She graduated in 2012 from St. Olaf College with degrees in Music and Studio Art. Last year she was an Art Apprentice at St. Olaf and put together two shows with her fellow apprentices. A love of printmaking led her to contact Fontlove (completely out of the blue!) this past winter. Luckily come spring, Elana posted an application for an intern. Back from a 3 week journey to Japan, Anda is excited to begin helping out at Fontlove. When not printing this summer she will be gardening, cooking, biking, and working towards her yoga teacher certification.
We're* so excited you're here!
* There I go again.
